Nice to meet you. Thank you for visiting here. Many things inspired me to start this blog and the first reason, a personal one, is to simply share my experiences as I attempt to live life more adventurously. Always cautious by nature, I have declined many opportunities for adventure out of simple fear. But, I don’t want to be afraid anymore, as my greatest experiences occurred when I challenged and overcame my fear.

Second, I want you to have more fun in life. Perhaps you’ve been itching to break away from your routine of working, studying, parenting, and a schedule that seems packed with obligations. Maybe you’re here because there’s not a joyful carefree moment to be found on your schedule; I hope this site can inspire you to find those moments of joy, whatever your circumstance, wherever you may live.

Luckily, I live in one of the most beautiful, interesting places in the world–on the North Shore of Massachusetts, specifically the Cape Ann area. I don’t have to travel far to find many fun things to do, interesting people and adventures-in-waiting.

My third wish for this blog is to create a virtual sharing and meeting place  for like-minded people. I want to hear your stories of how you challenged yourself, how you added more fun to your life, and how you managed to “live a little” instead of working and worrying all the time. See below for how to contribute to this blog.

Keep in mind that adventure does not have to be grand, death-defying, or outrageous. It could mean learning something new-like how to swim; or spending a day in someone else’s shoes like when I went lobstering for the first time; or challenging yourself to run in your first 5K. It also might mean just having more fun, like we did when we were kids–going sledding or catching fireflies in a bottle (and letting them go, of course.)

This blog is for all who want to feel alive through adventure, learning and fun. A little love tossed in there would help too, but that’s a different blog for a different day.

VOLUNTEERS AND CONTRIBUTORS NEEDED

VOLUNTEERS: No experience or equipment needed but if you do have video/film experience or equipment, that’s great. I am seeking people to share in fun experiences, take video clips with a simple video camera, and take photographs. In the future I may make a short film-video.

Requirements: Please be over the age of 21, and a have a desire to live life fully. Send me an email below if you want to volunteer. Benefits: Fun! And, gaining experience in “film,” recognition and promotion of your work on the web, and related expenses paid–should there be any expenses!

CONTRIBUTORS: I would love for you to share your own adventure and/or cool pictures & video. As I said above, your adventure does not have to be death-defying, outrageous or dangerous. It can be a moment when you challenged yourself, or a moment when you remembered what fun was, or when you did something outside of your  comfort zone that made you feel exhilarated and alive. 

Requirements: You can be any age, any walk of life, or any location around the world. You do not have to live on Cape Ann. For photos, high-resolution clear photos that are owned by you (you will get the credit). For writing, any original article preferably less than 1500 words. For video, videos will be uploaded to my YouTube channel and linked to this site. Of course, they must be original video and you will get the credit. Privacy: You can contribute under your regular name or for “shy” bloggers, you can contribute using a user name. Benefits: Sharing & expressing yourself through writing, inspiring others to live adventurously, promotion and recognition on the web and well, why not?
